A visit to Pilkiington Glass gave us an invaluable insight to how much energy goes into making their product...
A few weeks ago I was invited to attend the Birmingham Climate Change Festival by E.ON, one of the main sponsors.
The sun shone for the opening of E.ON’s new building up in Coventry on 8 May.
I was asked to speak at the Eco Island conference last week in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
We spent an interesting day in Derby earlier this week visiting some of E.ON’s customers to see how they manage their energy and resources. Our visits included Inspirepac, Derby City Council and Debenhams.
Just before Christmas I attended a very interesting event, an awards ceremony for the Energy Efficiency Accreditation Scheme run by the Carbon Trust and the NEF (National Energy Foundation).
Unfortunately we are unable to plant any trees around our current energy inefficient office but fortunately it will be knocked down within the next few years to make way for a large development, where we will move into a great new energy efficient office.
The first two weeks in October I was away on a bit of a holiday.
Our aim is to ensure our company becomes more energy efficient, more sustainable, uses less resources where possible and recycles as much as possible. We also aim to encourage others to do the same.
Today felt incredibly positive as it was not only fantastic to launch CIBSE (the Chartered Institute of Business Services Engineers) and E.ON’s 100 Day Challenge, but to speak to other businesses about their experiences of energy management.
We have just signed up to the CIBSE 100 Days of Carbon Clean Up Campaign
I have just received the results of our recent energy survey from E.ON and have found it very interesting.
Hello again all! Things have been a bit quiet recently as I’ve been trying to take a bit of time off…
Well it’s been a little while since the last blog as I’ve been away on holiday in Scotland. It always seems busy on my return, and this occasion is no exception!
Over the past months I have been getting to E.ON and trying to understand what you actually do - which is clearly a huge amount.
I've never been a wasteful person, and as a result I'm on a bit of a personal mission to find out more about living in a more sustainable way.
